Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we went to Rexburg to visit family and had a good time and awesome foood. The drive was good without any snow on the roads although Peyton would of liked to play in the snow .We went bowling with Rigg’s sister and had a ton of fun. Peyton also got play with her cousins at my moms house where we had another yummy dinner. Grandpa was a hit and enjoyed giving piggy back ride.
Here is a few pictures that I took.

Grandma Murray visits

Rigg’s mom and sister came and visited two weeks after Paisley was born and we enjoyed having them here. She made some yummy meals while I just tried to take it easy. Its not easy for me having someone do things for me while at my house, but I have to admit it was kind of nice not to worry about cooking for a few days. We didn’t do much just hung out and loved on miss Paisley. We did celebrate Rigg’s birthday with a cake that his mom made. Happy Birthday babe!

Paisley was 8 days old when she had these pictures taken. My friend Lindsey offered to take them and she has got some talent behind the lens. I think they turned out SO cute, thanks Lindsey.

Paisley Ann arrives 11/2/12

(Just a warning this post is picture overload)

Today was the scheduled c-section day that I have counting down for the past month. I have been happy, nervous, excited, and scared. My emotions have been crazy the last two weeks. My mom came in the night before and had the duty of caring for miss Peyton while I was in the hospital for 3 whole days, yes it was miserable but thankful to my wonderful hubby who stayed with me the whole time. Surgery was scheduled for 9:30am but got bumped which ended up being a good thing since I was able to see Peyton before I went in. I was so worried about her staying entertained that I got her a backpack and filled it with all kinds of goodies and boy she sure did love it and kept her busy for days.

I had an amazing doctor who did the surgery who was just so fun and positive about everything. She talked me through everything as well as the other staff. Rigg stood next to me holding my had and taking a peak or too over the drapes. He thought it was cool being able to watch the surgery.  The doctor was so concerned about Rigg getting some good pictures that she would pause as Paisley was coming out so he could snap some pics which I think they look pretty cool. Next thing I know at 11:55 am miss Paisley had finally arrived weighing 6 lbs 15 oz and 20 1/2 in long. Hearing that first cry brought tears to my eyes I could not be more grateful that things went so well compared to Peyton’s delivery.

As I was laying there and hearing a cry every now and then I knew something was wrong. I knew her cry should of be louder and for a longer stretch. My heart rate started to increase and it felt like a ton of bricks was on my chest. It took everything for me  not bust out in tears.  Rigg was with her at this point taking pictures so he didn’t fill me in. I heard the nurses and doc whispering a few words and then finally a nurse came and told me not to worry but we are going to take her to the NICU because she is not keeping her oxygen and color up and they were having a hard time suctioning her to get all the fluid out. WOW not to worry, I already knew something was wrong before they told me. Sometimes being a nurse has its disadvantages. Rigg went with her to the NICU and by the time she got up there she started to pink up and they did a quick assessment and sent her back. As I was being wheeled into recovery room I did not expect see her and when I did the tears came pouring out. I was so happy to see her and just happy knowing she was not in the NICU anymore. Everything after that is just a blur and I was just so tired. Peyton and my mom were waiting for us, Peyton loved holding her for the whole 10 seconds. On the second day Paisley was a little jaundice so she had be under the lights which she kind of liked since it was so warm.
We just hung our for the next 3 days and enjoyed our new bundle of joy and being a family of four with a few visitors of some close friends. I was so thankful that my mom was there to help out at the hospital and at home and of course my hubby that he was able to take a week off work to be with us. We are so thankful that we were blessed with another child of our Heavenly Father.
